“YuP” hits the big screen

On November 3, Two Plank’s producer, Austin Gibney premiered his snowboard flick, “YuP.”

The film, by Black Hole Productions, sold out the Crested Butte Center for the Arts. Along with “Yup,” they also showed Volcom’s “Escramble” and a short film by Fuse Snowskates.

After the show, everyone was invited back to Austin’s house for the after party. Attendees got schwag from Volcom and plenty of free beer. As usual, a good time was had by all.

Edited by Austin and produced by Kyle Anderson, “YuP” is made up of up-and-coming riders who either live in Crested Butte or who used to live there. The film encompasses all sorts of riding from urban rails, to park jumps, to backcountry booters, to cliffs and backcountry lines. Filming took place at Crested Butte, Copper, the Crested Butte backcountry, Northstar, Salt Lake City and Jackson Hole.

As of right now, blackholeproduction.com is not quite up and running. It should be shortly. Until then, check out myspace.com/blackholesnow.

If you missed the November 3 show, don’t fret. There is another show on November 30 at Western State College, and one more in Crested Butte at the Center for the Arts on December 30. So, mark you calendars.
