Road Trip!
October 23rd, 2006On Thursday, Oct. 12, the Two Plank crew headed off on a three-day road trip, covering an impressive amount of Colorado.
The journey began at the “Screenplay†premiere in Colorado Springs on Thursday. This was the fifth stop of the tour. Amped fans piled into the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs student lounge where they were treated with not only “Screenplay,†but tons of giveaways as well.
After a successful show and an evening out in the Springs, the crew headed to Steamboat for stop number six the next day. The Steamboat Springs Mountain Theater played host. With its location in Ski Time Square—the epicenter of ski life in Steamboat—the venue was a perfect setting. Attendees got tons of schwag from Crested Butte lift tickets all the way to a pair of Ninthward skis.
Following the show and the ensuing shenanigans, the crew packed up and headed for Loveland Ski Area bright and early on Saturday morning. By around 9:15 a.m., everyone rolled into a warm, sunny parking lot for some opening day shredding.
A few tequila shots later—in celebration of the start to ski season—it was off to Loveland’s opening day mini park. Unfortunately, one of the two features was closed off due to some serious sketchiness, leaving a down box for everyone to hit. No worries, though. The crew—particularly Alex and Jonny—did pretty much everything you thought possible on this box from 450-on attempts to pretzels to some awfully smooth 270s on and off.
Around 1 p.m., the bright skies gave way to cloud cover, and before any of us new it, snow was piling up. By closing, around four inches of fresh blanketed Loveland, bringing a close to quite the road trip.
